Good Evening Blogland! I’m sorry to just now post the wedding recap, but I think I have a touch of food poisoning and have been pretty out of commission all day. But, we’ll get to that fun experience at the end of this post.
The wedding was at 4:00 in Alexandria yesterday. With the tea party protest in DC and an art festival in Alexandria, we were faced with a lot of this.
Which had us running about 10 minutes behind schedule. I was still able to snap a pick of the Collingwood Library and Museum as we were running to take a seat.

We made it just as the bridesmaids were heading down the aisle!

Both the bride and groom have brothers and sisters, so they mixed up their wedding parties!

Saying their I Do’s.

Some lemonade and juice for guests to sip on at their seats.

They said their I Do’s overlooking the Potomac River

And so commenced cocktail hour. Or, in my case, “mocktail” hour. Club soda with a splash of cranberry.

And Mr. and Mrs. C decided to pose for a shot.

Some passed apps started to make the rounds. Pesto Grilled Cheese and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp. I had one of each. I was partial to the mini pesto sandwiches!

We caught the bride and groom posing for the photographer. They’re en route to Italy right now for two weeks. Very jealous!

The bride’s sister had painted the background in this painting and it sat on an easel all night for guests to add to the couple’s painting. There were lots of flowers, a tree and birds at the end of the night. Very cool idea!

Also outside was a cheese and bruschetta display.

I had one cracker and one bruschetta before we moved into the carriage house for dinner.

We were quickly able to locate our placecard.

And moved into the beautifully decorated reception hall.

The bride’s mother is a florist and her company did ALL the stunning flowers! Breathtaking!
This was the second wedding I’ve been to in two weeks where the bride and groom have come out to the Black Eyed Peas’ “I’ve Gotta Feelin’” They also came out in clogs. The bride’s family are from the Netherlands, and many had flown in for the event!
There was everything you could imagine on the buffet! I had green beans, fingerling potatoes, tomato caprese, shrimp & scallop pasta and vegetable tortellini.

It was delicious! It was such a fun night, and great to share it with old friends!
We had a friend stay over with us last night, and we had coffee this morning which delayed my ten miler. I finally left around 10:00 and was making great time. Around 4 miles in a very residential neighborhood, I started to get some tummy issues. And, there was nowhere to go. I had no choice, but to turn back and go home. I have been sick EVER since, and spent the bulk of the day drinking fluids and laying in bed. To put it into perspective, I’ve lost 6 pounds since I weighed myself first thing this morning. NOT GOOD.
Not lookin’ so hot.

I’m off to try to put something solid in my stomach. Hopefully I get better for the half next weekend! Not only that, but I’ve got a super busy workweek. Agh!
Hope you had wonderful weekends!
